Walk a Mile for a Meal

Registration 1-2pm
Meet at Big Y between 1 -2 pm. Purchase a bag of groceries (suggested list below). Walk back to the First Congregational Church with your bag, and deposit in the food bins outside the Parish House. Cookies, water and lemonade will be provided to all walkers outside of the Parish House.
The event benefits the New Milford Food Bank. Over 400,000 Connecticut residents-including more than 117,000 children are food insecure. 73% of these families had to choose between food or utilities. 63% had to choose between food or rent. 68% had to choose between food or medical care.
Here are the items that the Food Bank is particularly interested in receiving:

- Jarred Tomato Sauce
- Hearty Soups
- Pasta
- Canned Fruit
- Tuna/Salmon
- Canned Beans (Assorted)
- Cereal
- Snacks
- Juice, Coffee, Tea
- Canned Pasta
- Broth (Veggie, Beef or Chicken)
- Apple Sauce
- Oil (Canola, Vegetable or Corn)
- Pancake Mix
- Toilet Paper/Paper Towels
- Laundry Detergent
- Cleaning Products
- Children’s Diapers (Sizes 4/5/6 Only)
- Women’s Maxi Pads
